Newborn care guidelines can be a vast reading. Dissecting each topic needs time and attention. But, as we follow along each monthly stage of our little ones, a little reading every now and then can be helpful -- not such a bad idea as this can precisely teach us what to do at the exact moment or period, even avoid forgetting some things (especially the practical ones) that may slip our minds..
Here, we've listed down three dos and don’ts that may serve as our reminder in a more general manner.
Don't leave your baby inside the room for longer periods even when they are asleep.
Avoid as much as possible in putting baby to sleep on their tummies especially at night. Once they get past their 4th month stage, the risk of SIDS will become lesser.
Never buy over-the-counter medicines for your little ones; always consult with your doctor.
Do outdoor strolls from time to time. Not only do babies need it, they would also love to see varied sceneries once their vision starts to work at a longer distance.
Always make sure all products used on your little munchkins will be free of harsh chemicals.
Observe patterns of their needs & behaviors - this way, it will be so much easier for you to address their cries (your instincts are of a great advantage as well).
